Unlike what our readers might think, people in Nice are not eating only socca and pissaladières, thanks for their bums and breath. Sometimes one is happy to have a good fresh bagel or club sandwich, and that’s why Déli Bo is here for! [ This brand new Deli that opened last february offers also a very large choice of fresh dishes, including “veloutés”, quiches, delicatessen, bagel cheeseburger, truffles penne, tuna tataki, various eggs and salads, and yes, pissaladières!

We tried the avocado and pancetta bagel and the chicken and grilled pancetta club, and let me tell you it was worth the trip on that crazy rainy Riviera day.
Then came the pastries, the choice was difficult cause so many cakes, so little thighs (at least we wish!). We went for the millefeuille and the Paris NIce (a joke about the famous french cake Paris Brest).
I swear to you, the sweet masterpieces signed by Sébastien Jacob, the chef patissier, are REALLY amazing, and the rumor says they might be the best in town.
Miam!
Déli Bo is open from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM, to have breakfast, lunch, goûter, snack at anytime or take away. The thing is for lunch, you really should make a reservation, as it is crowded almost all the time, and that’s only justice! You also have to know that the prices are really reasonable, as everything is fresh, and the place is pretty and comfy. For two, we payed 32 euros, including sandwiches, cocas, pastries and coffee, a good deal for a trendy address.Déli Bo, 5 rue Bonaparte, 06000 Nice. Tel: +33 4 93563304 and on Facebook.
From monday to Saturday, 7:30 AM – 7:00 PM

I like this place – elegantly designed, food is of high quality and the staff and proprietor friendly. Let down a little by lack of non-dairy & vegetarian options; in the 21st century there’s no excuse for not stocking soy milk, or for there being only (last time I was there) one main meal that had neither cheese, fish nor meat in it. When they opened, an avocado salad bagel was on the menu – is that still an option?

It was the best quiche I’ve ever had. The bagel with smoked salmon and goat cheese was wonderful too.
