As you’ve seen in our previous post, “yes we Cannes”, we are in a Cannes mood these days. So we had decided to go try “Da Laura”, an italian restaurant we heard about. And to be honest, it was so good that we kind of forgot to analyzed everything in our plates as we are supposed to do. But…we took good pictures, and anyway, food is more about eating than talking, so take a little look at this delicious menu and those reasonable prices, then have a bite of it with us:

First came the appetizers, freshly sliced with a shiny red machine, as a welcoming gesture from our hosts:

Then Stephen choose the raviolis with mushrooms on the choice of the day:

img_4370Pastas and raviolis were perfectly cooked, al dente ma non tropo. We could have imagined being in Roma, with an old italian signora cooking for us her traditional family recipes. Actually, the chief Mario Paviolo is a man from Torino, and Laura the owner looks more like an italian movie beauty than a grandma. She was having lunch with her children on the terrasse that day, so we didn’t dare to distract her with our questions. The food was speaking for itself!!!

The pastries were amazing too, not too sugary, very gooey and so beautifull!

Lust, lust, lust, all we need is lust!

So then we decided to go visit the Santa Maria Novella pharmacy, the legendary old century profumeria from Firenze to indulge ourselves with delicate eau de cologne and soaps.

And yes, on our way back to the car park we even made a little stop at the Giant Hermès store on la Croisette just to have a look, so Holly Golightly of us! I guess we just had our Breakfast at Tiffany’s moment.
