This is a restaurant that kind of fulfill our wishes perfectly. Everyday the talented young chief Lois Guenzati build his card with the fresh products that he find at the Cours Saleya Market just nearby. The food is deliciously sophisticated in a simple way. Flavors are delicate, presentation too, but not complicated. The place, easy but pretty is the result of the association between Armand Crespo who owns the famous “Bistrot d’Antoine”, with Lois Guenzati who had worked previously for prestigious places like “Le Negresco” in Nice or “L’Hermitage” in Monaco.
We had “artichokes barigoule in cocotte” and “escabeche mackerels with potatoes” to start, then “fresh tuna half cooked with pancetta and brocolis velouté” and “beef tong”, a very french treat. Everything was really good, even the little pieces of bread they give you inside a little white paper bag!
If you choose among the dishes of the “menu”, it will cost you around 26 euros, as all the starters are for 7 euros, all the main dishes for 13 euros and all the desserts for 6 euros. If you go by the suggestions of the day it will be a bit more expensive (between 9 to 18 euros per dish), but really not too much regarding the high quality of what is in your plate!
The team is young, very efficient and welcoming, and the kitchen is completely open, nothing to hide, in the long corridor that links the two warm eating rooms. On the walls you can choose between different fishes cans, olive oil jars or wine bottles for buying. They sell the products from the fair trade brand Jose Gourmet with their pretty design.
