img_5236If you feel like having an healthy, tasty and natural lunch  in le Vieux Nice, but had too much socca,  pissaladière and farçis already, go for Café Marché just behind the Cours Saleya. This is a charming little restaurant- Salon de thé, where you might feel back home.  Simple dishes, made freshly with local products of the day, like: “swede velouté with maple syrup and grilled peanuts sticks”, “vegetable lasagna with eggplant, parmesan cheese and mesclun salad” or “veal cottage pie with potatoes, carrots, eggplants and parsley”;

A huge range of fresh juices, coffee creme or latte, hot chocolate, Kusmi tea, soja milk, milk shakes and Ben and Jerry’s ice cream for cocooning.

The place is very warm, no chalala at all but full of charm. this could be the “Central Perk à la niçoise”, with a big purple sofa for those who wants to rest a bit and enjoy a good Christmas spices or mint chocolate or chocolate marhmallow piece of cake. Whatch out also the pink, green or blue home made funny shapes meringues!

The plat du jour will coast you around 10 euros, cakes are around 4 euros and meringue 2 euros. We had a delicious fresh complete meal and beverage for 3 people for 47 euros, that was really worth it!
